This course provides a structured foundation in networking and information security, covering both technical implementations and management frameworks. Participants will gain knowledge in switching, routing, core services, and security protocols, and also explore risk, compliance, and incident response management.

Methods

Remote Leader Led/RLL: Virtual classroom environment

  • Virtual lab setup using simulation (Packet tracer, windows server for DHCP,DNS…)

  • Equipment to participate in a video conference e.g. headset.
  • Two PCs or one PC with dual screens.

  • Understand switching concepts (LAN design, VLANs, STP/RSTP/MSTP)

  • Understand core security concepts and threat landscape
  • Learn VPN basics, TLS, SRTP, and firewall/IDS/IPS role
  • Basic authentication protocols overview
  • Security policy development basics

Day 4: Information Security Management Frameworks and Risk Learning objectives

  • Understand information security management frameworks (ISO 27001, COBIT, ITIL)
  • Learn risk assessment methodologies and control framing
  • Introduction to business continuity and crisis management

Day 5: Incident Response, Policies, Auditing, and Integration Learning objectives

  • Deep dive into incident response lifecycle, playbooks, and policy development
  • Audit readiness, logging, compliance reporting
  • Integration and practical wrap-up: how to apply across a real environment
