MiVoice MX-ONE Administration 

 

Internet communication via https (http via TLS) has been standard for years and is no longer the exception. TLS serves as an "encryption layer" to protect communication from unintentional eavesdropping. Many other protocols (including SIP) can use this "encryption layer". While the use of TLS is very simple, the configuration is complex and anything but trivial. It requires understanding of asymmetric encryption, hash functions, the RSA cryptosystem, certification authorities, certificate chains, etc.

There are a lot of questions: what needs to be prepared to get a certificate, what exactly is a certificate, how does it work, where do I get it from, what do I get from the certification authority, where do I have to place it, which material is confidential and which not.

This course provides extensive understanding and background knowledge and provides comprehensive answers to the above questions.

Even that IPv6 is meanwhile almost 20 years old it was not that much implemented in the enterprise. But now most telephony systems support IPv6 and all modern operating systems prefer by default IPv6 over IPv4. It is not only the huge address space of IPv6 and the different notation of the addresses, several concepts and functionalities are totally different from what we know from IPv4. The IPv6 Workshop was developed to transfer the necessary knowledge to be able to configure a telephony system to integrate in an IPv6 network.

Manager Provisioning  and the Service Node Manager are Mitel adapted network management applications. Although this course will only cover the installation and configuration of the MiVoice MX-ONE related parts, the result will be a complete working environment due to the hands-on exercises. Students will understand the basic functionality and use of MP and SNM.

Mitel Manager Provisioning & Service Node Manager course is designed for engineers who have to support, install, configure and maintain the sustaining part of the MiVoice MX-ONE system as well as for IT staff who deals with the handling fault location in customer network environment.

The course provides a web based GUI in which the majority of the features can be configured and maintained of the software in the Telephony Server and other Servers that need to be monitored. It does not cover installation, configuration or maintenance of any operating system or applications as related to the product.
